Keep Walton County Beautiful Post–Fourth of July Neighborhood Cleanup a Success
Every year, our beaches, parks and neighborhoods experience a significant increase in litter following the Fourth of July holiday, but thanks to you, Walton County is looking beautiful.
Keep Walton County Beautiful extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the Post–Fourth of July Neighborhood Cleanup on July 5 and 6. This community-led effort truly showcased the pride and care our residents and visitors have for the places we all enjoy.
Here's what we accomplished together:
- Nine community-led cleanups across Walton County.
- Sixty-five participants of all ages.
- Sixty-two bags of litter removed.
We’re so grateful to the individuals, neighborhoods and businesses who hosted cleanups or helped spread the word. We want to give a special thanks to:
- Annie Reichman – Allied Marketing
- Deb Zahariades – Homeowners Association
- Kaitlynn Detrio – Mare and Oro
- Dalton Hutchins – Hutchins Family (visiting from Texas)
- Haley Miett – Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar
- Mary Louise – Acton Academy of 30A

And a special shoutout to our incredible Beach Operations crew for working 365 days a year to service nearly 700 garbage stations along our beaches and public spaces. Their behind-the-scenes efforts are essential to keeping Walton County clean and beautiful for all of us. We couldn't do this without them.
