Visit South Walton Announces Artist of the Year 2021

Walton County, Fla.–Jan. 27, 2021– Visit South Walton is pleased to announce that Chandler Williams, owner of Modus Photography, is the 2021 South Walton Artist of the Year.

“It’s an honor, and a privilege, to be recognized as an artist within this community,” he says. “I think the thing about landscape art photography is that it’s kind of the common ground that unites us all in South Walton.”

Celebrating its 19th year, the South Walton Artist of the Year award showcases South Walton artists and their work throughout the year, by way of various events and promotions. In addition, the recipient is awarded a $4,000 commission for a piece of artwork that will be put on public display for visitors and locals to enjoy.

“To be recognized for your art, as a photographer – especially as Artist of the Year for South Walton – it means a lot,” Williams says. “Overall, in the art world, photography really isn’t looked at as an art – I would disagree with any argument about it not being an art.”
