There’s a whole lot of Spring Break family-fun in South Walton. From concerts and events to Mardi Gras parades, St. Patrick’s celebrations and fun activities for the kids, South Walton has endless adventures to enjoy this month. See what’s going on around town. Spotlight Events:

March 1-4: Nina and the Pinta Ships to Land in Miramar Beach: 9 a.m.

Replicas of the “Pinta” and the “Nina” will be docked at Baytowne Marina until March 4. While in port, the public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission is $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, and $6.50 for students 5-16. Children 4 and under are free. The ships are open every day from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. No reservations necessary.

March 1-3: Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Run / Taste of the Race: 7 p.m.

Join the Seaside School for Taste of the Race with Emeril Lagasse on Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m., then on Saturday, enjoy the Seaside School Race Expo & Silent Auction beginning at 12 p.m., finally, lace up your shoes for the Half Marathon & 5K Run beginning Sunday at 7 a.m. 100% of the race profits benefit the Seaside School, a tuition-free, local neighborhood school.

March 3: Mardi Gras Dog Parade at Baytowne Wharf: 2 p.m.

The streets will be filled with costumed dogs and their humans throwing a myriad of throws, beads, and parade favors. Themed convertibles, small floats, golf carts, bicycles, and decorated wagons will be everywhere, and Mardi Gras music will fill the air. The Mardi Gras dog parade is one of the premier canine events in South Walton.

March 5: 17th Annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade: 5 p.m.

Prepare to let your hair down on what many call the most festive day of the year, Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Let the good times roll with the annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade rolling through Sandestin.

March 7-10: Emerald Coast Theatre Company presents Bad Dates: Starring Jennifer Steele

The Emerald Coast Theatre Company focuses on engaging and thought-provoking productions for adults and families. Join the ECTC for a presentation of Bad Dates: Starring Jennifer Steele. Restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker is finally ready to re-enter the dating world. March 14: Amavida Roaster Tour: 10 a.m.

Join Amavida Coffee Roasters on the 2nd Thursday of each month for a tour of their roastery, and a coffee tasting with your local coffee roaster. You’ll see behind the scenes operations of specialty coffee roasting and meet some of the team who make it possible to enjoy fresh roasted coffee from across the globe in your community.
