March Events in South Walton

From performing arts and wine events to live music and outdoor movies, South Walton has a wonderful schedule of events this March. Here’s a look at what’s happening; for even more South Walton events, go to www.visitsouthwalton.com.

Spotlight Events:


March 1: 18th Annual Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K

Established in 2003 to raise funds for the Seaside® Neighborhood School, the Race has become a huge community affair, drawing in more than 4,000 runners annually from around the world.


March 2: Sea & Sky Painting Demo (Waves) with Artist Joan Vienot: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Hosted by Anne Hunter Galleries in Seaside, Artist Joan Vienot will be exhibiting a variety of works throughout March and April, as well as live painting demos.


March 5: Italy from Old to New-Hosted by Master Sommelier Doug Frost: 4-6 p.m.

Master of Wine and Master Sommelier Doug Frost will lead attendees through a tasting survey of eight Italian wines from north to south, with some well-known names alongside new and upcoming estates, classic DOCs and DOCGs up against new areas and lesser known grapes during an event at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.


March 6: Friday After Hours at East End Gallery:

Original art mixes with copycat appetizers at this fun Art After Hours event! The original works are in oil, watercolor, sculpture, acrylic and mixed media, while we copy PF Chang's, Chili's and Cracker Barrel on the food table. Come and enjoy works from 26 local and regional artists before the Whisper exhibit ends at East End Gallery.


March 6-8: 28th Annual Seaside Prize Weekend

The Seaside Institute™ awards the Seaside Prize™ to individuals, organizations, or communities who have made major contributions to the quality and character of their community. Seaside Prize winners are leaders in urban design, planning, architecture, development, and education, having a major influence on how towns and cities can best be built and re-built to reflect and promote new urban principles.


March 6-8: 7th Annual Tequila & Taco Fest

Hosted at Seascape Towne Centre located in beautiful Miramar Beach, Florida. Local restaurants will be competing for the Best Taco on The Emerald Coast with a first-place prize of $2,500.

Sample over 40 different types of Tequilas from Blancos, Resposados, Anjieos, Mezcals and taste some of the best Margaritas of your life!


March 12: Bubbly Baytowne: 5-7 p.m.

Join us for an evening full of FREE champagne and shopping during our Bubbly Baytowne. Sip and Shop through the village streets! Stop in various retail merchants as you enjoy a selection of premium champagnes. This event is free and for 21 and up only. The village will be open to the public during this event.


March 12: Whose Wine Is It Anyway? A Blind Wine Event: 6-9 p.m.

FPRA's Northwest Florida Coast Chapter presents this year's fundraising event: Whose Wine Is It Anyway? A blind wine event! Grab your team of 4, get your tickets, and bring the same bottle of red wine to play a game of Blind Wine.

Don't want to play? We welcome you to join and celebrate the evening with beer, wine, cheese boards, silent auction items, and a special champagne toast anyway.


March 17: St. Patty’s Day Delight – Paint the Village Green: 6-9 p.m.

Celebrate the Luck of the Irish at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Featuring Carpenter Academy of Irish Dance and Live Music from The Blenders!


March 17: St. Patrick’s Day Rooftop Celebration

Wear your best green accessory and join Havana Rooftop Lounge for a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration and menu – complete with themed cocktails and Havana Beach’s twist on classic Irish food. This event is 21-plus and weather permitting.


March 22: Art in the Park: 9 a.m.-5p.m.

Welcome to the 15th annual Art in the Park held at WaterColor Cerulean Park and Town Center. WaterColor is the ideal backdrop for the open-air art festival where visitors and locals are invited to spend the day exploring a wide spectrum of art, enjoying live music, socializing over a fun beverage and bite to eat, or just relaxing in the park.


March 27: 2nd Annual Sand & Starlight Supper Club: 5:30-10 p.m.

Join the Seaside School Foundation for the 2nd Annual Sand & Starlight Supper Club on Friday, March 27th from 5:30 to 10:00 pm at Bud & Alley’s Restaurant. The evening begins with cocktail hour in the sand, followed by an amazing multi-course meal and special musical entertainment throughout the night curated by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. Coming off the heels of one the most spectacular 30A Songwriter’s Festivals yet, the musical experience and ambience will be like no other, featuring the charming and unpredictable, Amy LaVere, and American country music legend, Wynonna Judd. Less than 100 tickets are available for this exclusive performance. Grab yours early... they will go so fast!


March 27: Cocktails & Canvases at The Gathering Spot: 7-9 p.m.

Grab your apron, invite your friends and join The Gathering Spot for a fun night of painting and sipping. Hone your artistic skills with an instructor-led class and your very own masterpiece on canvas. Open to the public. $65++per person; includes art instruction and supplies, one complimentary welcome champagne and one additional alcoholic beverage, plus light fare. March 28: "Festa del Vino" Italian Wine Tasting: 2-4 p.m.

A celebration of one of the oldest & most famous wine regions in the world, this tasting event at the Wine Bar WaterColor features up to 40 Italian wines alongside Italian cheeses and "canapes!" Tickets are $25 and all ticketholders will receive an instant $5 rebate to use on their favorite featured wine!

Enjoy light bites and live music while tasting select wines every Tuesday night 5-7 p.m. 21 and up only, $20 per person.


Tuesday Tastings at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

Every Tuesday, guests can enjoy half off glasses, carafes, and bottles of wine.  This deal excludes house wines but includes all other wines and seasonal sangrias.

Wednesday Night Bonfire on the Beach at The Bay: 6 p.m.

Enjoy The Bay’s private beach, live music from local artists, and cozy fires every Wednesday Night.


Cheese and Wine Wednesday at the Wine Bar (WaterColor and Grand Boulevard: 4-6 p.m.

Every Wednesday, visit Wine World between the hours of 4-6 p.m. to sample and learn about our featured cheeses and wine of the week. These fun and casual tastings are just $5, and your ticket will also serve as a $5 coupon to use in retail...it's basically a free tasting!


Wednesday Night Concert Series: 7-9 p.m.

The Wednesday Night Concert Series returns to Baytowne starting March 4. This spring sit back and relax, as you take in the cool crisp air, and enjoy live entertainment. The concert series will feature both local and regional talent from a variety of genres. March 4 – Dion Jones & The Neon Tears, March 11 – Boukou Groove, March 18 – The Shakedown and March 25 – Forrest Williams Band.

Fitness Field Day in Marina Park: 8 a.m.

Get a workout for mind and body at WaterColor Inn’s Fitness Field Day, led by certified trainers and coaches. This two-hour program, held the first Wednesday of each month from March through May, offers a High Intensity Training (HIIT) workout, followed by a cooldown with Yoga. Each camper will receive a healthy snack at the end of the workout for an energy boost. Open to the public for ages 9 and up. $50+ per person. Alys Beach Spring Reels: 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Spring Reels 2020! Bring blankets and low back chairs to enjoy films under the stars at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. Henry’s Pizza Truck will be available for food and beverage. Free and open to the public. March 11 – “Inside Out,” March 18 – “Finding Dory” and March 25 “The Lorax.”



Grayton Beer Brewpub Trivia Night: 6-8 p.m.

Join the staff of Grayton Beer Brewpub every Thursday night to test your knowledge against other teams. Enjoy $12 pitcher specials, small-batch beers, craft cocktails and dinner. Teams of 6 are best, if you don’t have a team you can make some new friends at the brewpub! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners each week.


Alys Beach Spring Concerts: 6-8 p.m.

Bring a blanket or chair to the Alys Beach Amphitheater and enjoy the night with some good tunes. Food and beverage available for purchase at Henry’s Pizza Truck. March 12 – The Pickled Picklers, March 19 – Lucky Strike Retros and March 26 – The Scratchtones.



Seaside Farmer’s Market at Seaside Amphitheatre: 9 a.m.

Seaside Farmers Market takes place in the Seaside Amphitheater every Saturday rain or shine 9 a.m.-12p.m.! Seaside Farmers Market is on a mission to educate the public about sustainable practices by providing a well-rounded, green living experience. Vendors offer farm fresh, locally grown produce, homemade baked goods, beef from happy cows, heirloom seeds, artisan breads and cheeses, organic eggs, preserves, and doggie treats, to name a few.


Farmer’s Market at Grand Boulevard: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Every Saturday, year-round, rain or shine, the Grand Boulevard Farmer's Market features dozens of unique vendors offering mostly locally sourced food-based items such as produce, grass-fed beef, chicken, and pork, local honey, pickled vegetables, gourmet jams, unique homemade hummus, flowers, herbs, soaps and lotions and much more.


Family Challenge Saturdays at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park: 9 a.m.

Every Saturday bring the family to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for a fun challenge you can complete together. Challenges range from geocaching, photo scavenger hunt, a beach scavenger hunt, or an art challenge! Check in at the Park Store between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for your family challenge packet. Upon completion, return the packet to the Park Store for your treat.

Open Mic/Tapas Night at the Backyard of Love: 4-8 p.m.

Every Saturday come join us in our Backyard, for live music, open mic, food and drinks. We are always serving up tasty treats from the Cafe Kitchen, Beverages for all and usually a sweet treat as well.

Lawrence Bertoldi and his band are our "Host" band and always bringing the love. Along with other special guests, You never know who you're going to find on stage! 5-7 p.m., is also our open mic time. where all of YOU are welcomed to join us on stage.



30A Farmer’s Market in Rosemary Beach: 9 a.m.  

Come out to do your food shopping and pick up fresh from the farm produce, baked goods and pastries, delicious prepared foods, and much more. Take in the stunning views of Rosemary Beach where you'll find vendors lining the park with tents and all the good stuff.


Sunday Brunch at Pescado: 10:30 a.m.

Chef Ken Duenas has prepared an elegant and sophisticated brunch menu. Take in the relaxing views of Rosemary Beach from Pescado’s rooftop while drinking Mimosas and Rose – all day. Live acoustic music from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with weekly rotating artists. 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays.

Every Sunday come discover more about the park’s natural and cultural history with a Park Ranger. Program begins at 9 a.m. Free with regular park admission.
