South Walton Celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – May 7, 2018- May 6-12 marks the 35th Annual National Travel and Tourism Week. In honor of the celebration, Visit South Walton is hosting three tourism-themed events. The first event, taking place on May 8th will include workshops for local tourism professionals. The workshops will cover best practices of Public Relations, Social and Digital Marketing, and Hospitality Services.

In addition to the three workshops, Visit South Walton will also sponsor the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce’s May Power of Business Luncheon featuring national tourism expert, Darienne Mobley. Mobley has been in the tourism industry for more than 30 years and has consulted with over 25 Convention and Visitor Bureaus in addition to tourism associations, and state tourism offices. The luncheon will be held May 9 at The Grand Sandestin. The final event for tourism week is the Perfect in South Walton Awards celebration, which will take place Wednesday, May 9 at Grayton Beer Company. The invitation-only event will feature live music by Dread Clampitt, food, and drinks along with the announcement of the 2018 Perfect in South Walton award winners. The winners will also be featured in South Walton’s year-round marketing materials and on the Visit South Walton social media pages.
