Fall is here and we are preparing for the season's events with a roundup of local happenings! This roundup will include fall events from October - December, and there will be a separate roundup for upcoming holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whether you're looking for a free fitness class, a concert, or something to do with the family, there’s an event for everyone in Walton County. 
 
Oct. 4 - 25, Wellness Wednesday at Grand Boulevard
Wellness Wednesday is a complimentary fitness class that takes place every Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m. and afternoon at 5 p.m., from Oct. 4 - 25 in Grand Park at Grand Boulevard. It’s the perfect way to kick-start your mid-week while focusing on your overall wellness before the holiday glut.

Oct. 6, Children's Volunteer Health Network Benefit Concert: 5:30 - 9 p.m.

Oct. 7, Main Street Oktoberfest: 5 - 8 p.m.
Main Street DeFuniak Springs will host its 3rd annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 5 - 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown DeFuniak Springs. The event, held outdoors on Baldwin Avenue between S. 7th and S. 8th St., will feature craft German beer, assorted German-themed vendors, live music, axe throwing and activities for kids and families.
 
Oct. 6 - 7, 15th Annual Baytowne Beer Festival
Join us for samplings of local brews, merchants and live music on the lawn. Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort presents the 15th annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest on Oct. 6 - 7. American specialty brews from around the nation will be available to sample and savor. The event will feature over 200 domestic and international craft beers available at the event, offering an opportunity to learn about the different types of lagers and ales from a variety of styles. Live music will also be featured during the festival. It's the Best Beer Fest on the Coast!

Oct. 7, South Walton Fire District Pancake Breakfast: 8 a.m. - noon
Join the South Walton Fire District in welcoming the start of Fire Prevention Week with a delicious breakfast of all-you-can-eat pancakes for $5. We will have family-friendly activities available, including face painting, a photo booth, fire engine tours, kids' firefighter combat challenge and plenty of 40th anniversary-themed surprises.

Oct. 8, Watersound Origins Porchfest: 3 - 6 p.m.
The Watersound Origins community will host the annual Watersound Origins Porchfest on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 3 - 6 p.m. This free public event will take place throughout Watersound Origins on the front porches and lawns of the community. Bring a lawn chair and friends and be ready for an afternoon of good music, good people and good neighbors. Food Trucks at the event include: Curry in a Hurry and MyOhana.
 
Oct. 11, Cigar and Cocktail Pairing by 30A Distilling Co. and Ash and Air: 5 - 7 p.m.
Ash and Air, a mobile cigar bar, will be setting up on the back porch at 30A Distilling Co. We will have cocktails curated to the cigar, as well as hors d'oeuvres and charcuterie included for your enjoyment.

Oct. 12, Spa Pearl Bubbles & Beauty: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Highlighting their spa offerings, The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach invites you to Bubbles & Beauty held on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Hemingway Room at The Pearl Hotel. Oct. 13 - 14, Grand Opening Weekend at Watersound Village Market

Oct. 14, Eggs on the Beach, Presented by Bay Breeze Patio: 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Eggs on the Beach is a green egg cooking competition open to the public with the purchase of a ticket. Teams compete for prizes cooking whatever they want to cook on the Big Green Egg. Ticket entry includes music, a raffle and all of the tastes you would like. This event is Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Seascape Towne Center.

Oct. 19 - 22, Harvest Wine & Food Festival
The seventh annual Harvest Wine & Food Festival returns to WaterColor for four days of epicurean excellence that is sure to delight both wine and culinary enthusiasts alike. The 2023 event will feature wine dinners, our famous Grand Tasting, a cocktail brunch and much more. Oct. 25 - 28, Second Annual Alys Beach Crafted
Crafted is a celebration of artists and artisans, culinary creatives, brewers, distillers and mixologists. Four days of events explore the collaborations between these experts, with guests invited into the the conversation - the "stories that craft tells." Firkin Fête, Spirited Seminars, Spirited Soirée, and "Be the Maker" workshops are the core of Crafted, with pop-ups, take-overs and special events added organically each year as they bloom from the collaborative spirit of the festival. Alys Beach Crafted proceeds benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County.

Oct. 27 - 28, AnnaMaria Cammilli Jewelry Trunk Show: 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Oct. 28, Run Watersound: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
The third annual Run Watersound will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28. Attendees will be able to participate in a 10K or 5K run. All registered runners, regardless of race distance, will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal. All races will begin and end at The Pavilion at Watersound Town Center with a flat scenic course through the paths and streets of the Watersound Origins community. Entry fees - 5K: $40 10K: $50
 
Oct. 28, 13th Annual Halloweener Derby: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The 2023 Halloweener Derby will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28 on the Lyceum Lawn. Costume contest follows championship race. Please note all dogs will need to be checked in at the registration tent prior to competing in the derby or costume contest.

Oct. 31, DeFuniak Springs Halloween Happening: 5 - 7 p.m.
Halloween Happening has been an annual event since 1991 and is put on by the DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association. Our community will close Baldwin Avenue on Halloween to celebrate! Local businesses will set up booths downtown and give away goodies and candy to kids. Also, there will be a costume contest for children under 11. Registration is at 4 p.m. and judging at 4:30 on Baldwin Avenue across from Creative Styling. This event is free and open to the public. Calling all ghouls, ghosts and goblins to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a spooktacular extravaganza! This Halloween, trick or treat through the Village streets and visit merchants for your favorite treat. Steve Hall will play frightenly good tunes on the main stage while you enjoy crafts and balloon animals. Be sure to stop by Coconut Kidz to enter the costume contest and compete to win the grand prize. End the night with a fireworks display at 8 p.m.

Nov. 18, Sparkling Wine & Holiday Lights: 4 - 6 p.m.
The Sparkling Wine & Holiday Lights will take place on the beautifully decorated streets of The Village of Baytowne Wharf, highlighting more than 30 champagne and delicious appetizers at featured Village restaurants. The event will feature an evening of holiday cheer, carolers, plenty of bubbles and end with Baytowne Wharf's choreographed light show, 12 Nights of Lights.

Nov. 25, Turn the Town: 4 - 5 p.m.
'Tis the season for holiday cheer! Join us in SEASIDE® as we ring in the holiday season with our annual tree lighting, photos with Santa, and more holiday activities for guests of all ages. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

 

Nov. 25, Charitable Christmas Concert: 3 p.m.
The Merchants of Rosemary Beach are excited to partner with the Rosemary Beach Foundation and Alaqua Animal Refuge for a special outdoor holiday concert from "Strawberry Wine" singer, Deana Carter. Benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge, this is an all ages, all species show so feel free to bring your furry best friends. Please donate for tickets and raffle online in advance. General Admission is a $5 suggested donation. For $20 per person, gain access to upfront and center seating in the Amphitheater Area. Don't forget your blankets and lawn chairs.
